The Famous Brant Inn!

* NOW AVAILABLE! *
It has been a long wait, but the much-anticipated new book on Burlington's famous Brant Inn (a Burlington Historical Society project) is now available!
John Murray Anderson turned the Brant Inn into a nightclub that grew to be internationally renowned and put Burlington on the map.
With his personal connections with the Brant Inn, local writer Stewart Brown was able to bring the many memories of this once vibrant nightclub alive.
Brant Inn Memories recalls stories ranging from the entertainers to the Inn's employees, from the club's owner to the building itself, in a way that will take the reader back in time to the dancing era when big bands, swing and jazz were the essence of an evening out.

The Prints of King is here!
It's long, stretching from the McMaster campus right through Stoney Creek.
It's old, dating back to the very roots of the community.
It runs right through the heart of the city.
And it's home - or has been - to many of Hamilton's finest buildings, grand churches, various hotels, old schools, several parks, as well as countless stores.
Of course it's King Street!
There are photographs from one end of the street to the other, with old buildings, street scenes, buildings long gone, and a look at parts of the street from the air.
The photographs show a vibrant street, one which has evolved over the years, one filled with memories.

Recent Releases:
While most photographers have had their feet planted firmly on the ground when taking images of Hamilton, others have sought out a completely different perspective.
Prints Over Hamilton offers a fascinating look at Hamilton, not from the ground level, but from a unique vantage point. Most of the photographs were taken by photographers flying high over the city, but others have climbed to the top of the old city hall or Pigott building, offering a closer view of the landscape.
There are also neighbourhoods, street scenes, old buildings in downtown, as well as photographs showing the development of the Burlington Bay Skyway Bridge.

Hamilton has always been a city of things that are unusual, fascinating and often quite unique. In this book, some of our local historical societies have once again come together to highlight some of the captivating and nostalgic things, no longer with us, that have helped to make us what we are today.
Gone, but certainly not forgotten, are such Hamilton landmarks as the TH&B Railway, old Central Collegiate Institute, and the Eaton's, Robinson's, Grafton's and Northways department stores.
Vanished Hamilton II takes us on a continuing tour through Hamilton's past, offering a nostalgic look back in time.
